An RA position is available to begin February 15, 2010 or after in the laboratory of Prof. Marc d’Alarcao at San Jose State University in San Jose, CA. The position involves synthesis of fluorinated carbohydrate analogues for potential application in cancer therapy and diagnostics.

Candidates for this position must have experience with synthetic chemistry, ideally with carbohydrates. The successful candidate will have completed a Ph.D. in organic or bioorganic chemistry and have a record of scholarly accomplishment documented by publications, but a candidate with comparable industry experience may be considered. The position is for one year initially extendable for an additional year or more by mutual consent and pending funding.
