Postdoctoral Position: Polymer Synthesis and Surfaces

A postdoctoral research position is immediately available in the area of polymer synthesis, surfaces and interfaces. This position requires a Ph.D. in polymer science, chemistry or a closely related field. Individuals with expertise in synthetic polymer chemistry, surface modification, and surface characterization (scanning probe microscopies) are encouraged to apply. Individuals with experience in the design of biofouling resistant surfaces and/or microfluidic systems will also be considered. The candidate should also be well versed in standard analytical techniques for polymer characterization (GPC, NMR, TGA, etc). Excellent oral and written communication skills are required, and publication of scientific results in peer-reviewed journals is expected. The position is in Prof. Derek Patton’s group in the School of Polymers and High Performance Materials at the University of Southern Mississippi.
