The Natural Products Discovery Group in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Oklahoma is seeking a postdoctoral candidate in the area of medicinal chemistry/natural products chemistry. The position is available for one year beginning June 1, 2009 and it may be renewed based on progress toward research goals.

The candidate will work with a multidisciplinary team of chemists, neuroscientists, and pharmacologists to prepare and evaluate libraries of semisynthetic compounds developed from natural product leads. The candidate must have a Ph.D. in medicinal chemistry, organic synthesis, or natural products chemistry by the project start date. The ability to solve problems independently and experience in the areas of organic synthesis, chromatography, NMR, LC-MS, and structure determination are required.
