PhD in Metals in the Marine Environment

The PhD topic, funded by Science Foundation Ireland and with a stipend of ~16,000 pa, is on the development and application of an automated voltammetric system for evaluation of trace metal content in marine enviroments. Collaboration with research groups in Liverpool and Southampton will enhance research training.

The Metals in the Marine Environment Group is a research collaboration between Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Oceanography, and Botany of the National University of Ireland, Galway, aimed at establishing metal content in marine environments and investigating their biorelevance.

NUI, Galway is a small, University, city, located in the scenic west of Ireland with a diverse student population of ~15,000, and research strengths in Marine, Environment and Biomedical research.
