Postdoctoral position in Inorganic Chemistry and Nanosciences

Company/Institution: University of Notre Dame
Location: Notre Dame, IN, USA
Date Posted: 26 February 2008

I have an immediate opening for a postdoctoral fellow to work on a project that involves synthesis and functionalization of small Si- and Ge-nanorods and their further incorporation into various materials. The nanorods are assembled from nine-atom clusters by a controlled step-wise process and the resulting nano-sized oligomers are of the same size and shape. The ideal candidate for the position should have both inorganic/organometallic solution-phase synthetic skills working with air-sensitive systems as well as experience in characterization of nano-objects by electron microscopy, optical spectroscopy, electrochemistry, etc.
