Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) is ranked as the top Malaysian university, according to the most recent Malaysia Quality Assurance (MQA) survey.

An independent and high motivated chemist is invited to apply for a postdoctoral position in synthetic medicinal chemistry. Based in the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, the successful candidate will be responsible for the development of glycosylated contructs primed as biomimetics. You will also be involved in the day-to-day running of the synthetic medicinal laboratory, and give support to students working in the laboratory.

The applicant should have completed (or expected to receive) a PhD in organic or medicinal chemistry. Experience in heterocyclic, peptide or carbohydrate chemistry would be advantageous. Good communications skills are essential.

This is a one-year post, and is available from April 2008.
